All tournaments are 5 games and students play other students in the same grade.  Tournament play begins at 9:40 a.m., and ends no later than 1:30 p.m.  Tournaments are open to all K - 8th grade students.  A total of 27 trophies will be awarded and those who do not get a trophy will receive a chess medal for participation.  Lunch is included.  Chess boards and chess sets will be provided, and are also available for sale throughout the tournament.  The entry fee is $30 in advance or $35 at the site.

Who - All K - 8th grade students.  All students should register in advance.  Entries should be sent in ASAP since space is limited to the first 100 students registered.  No entries will be accepted after the 100th entry.

Why - To have fun playing chess and competing in a friendly and sportsmanlike environment.

How - Students wil be grouped by grade level, and will only play other students in their group.  Please be sure to include your student's grade level on the registration form.

Cost - Each entry is $30 if paid in advance.  On-site and late entries (received after the Wednesday before the tournament) will be charged an additional $5.  The entry fee includes a lunch of pizza, fruit, drink and dessert.  Additional items will be available for purchase between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
